About Us
Superintendent's Welcome
As we begin the 2011-2012 school year, we are grateful for the opportunity to partner with families who desire a Biblically based education for their children. This year our theme is “Cultivate”--with a focus on cultivating our relationships with God, with each other and with our community.
The students who attend SSCS represent the hope we have for a generation of young people who will passionately love Jesus Christ and commit their live to serve Him. Our world desperately needs leaders who will stand for righteousness -- no matter the cost. That gives us our mission -- to partner with parents to equip students with faith, with knowledge and will skill so that our students are ready to glorify God while serving others.
Our teachers and staff are committed to challenging these young people, ages 4 to 18, to grow in faith, knowledge and skill. As they begin the day in prayer, they know that the most important work they do will only be accomplished in the power of the Spirit. The faculty and staff of SSCS are tireless, committed to the calling God has placed on their lives. They know that investing in the lives of students is an investment in eternity.
Every day is filled with learning, activity and relationships. Every day God works in hearts and makes His imprint on lives. As students learn the content of history and science, and the skills of English and math, they learn what it means to do their best in preparation for the great work God has for their future. As they sing, word process, arrange, draw, act.....think, collaborate and participate, they learn skills that will prepare them for life and for college. Involvement in a variety of activities means they will be well-rounded and prepared to serve God wherever He chooses to use their talents and abilities.
Last year, we enjoyed greatly celebrating 50 Years of Tacoma Baptist Schools offering Christian education in the south Puget Sound area. We now look forward to celebrating in 2012-2013 30 years of ministry for New Hope Christian School. Together, both schools represent a rich heritage of Christian schooling in the south Puget Sound.
I invite you to visit our campuses and to see for yourself that what is happening at SSCS is more than just an education. We challenge today’s disciples to be TOMORROW’S LEADERS.
In His service,
Debbie Schindler
