COLTON LUTTERLOH
Tacoma Baptist Class of 2010

Colton Lutterloh graduated as valedictorian of the TBS Class 2010. He attended New Hope Christian School from Kindergarten through 4th grade and then transferred to TBS to finish his school career. Most fun in elementary school was recess; playing tag and soccer was the best!

Colton remembers Mrs. Faker as being his favorite teacher, sharing that her energy, ability to motivate students and her way of making learning fun will never be forgotten.

During his freshman and sophomore years in high school, Colton served as class vice president; he was a member of National Honor Society. Most fun was the senior trip, a time of being with friends and taking that final break before graduating from high school. Lutterloh was selected as a Washington Aerospace Scholar to complete a series on space exploration and focused research about water on Mars; he also participated in a summer residency program at the Museum of Flight in Seattle. Colton was captain of his track and field and cross country teams. He also was a national qualifier for club track and performed at Lincoln Center with his school choir in 2009. He worked with the international aid community through the Gateway Medical Alliance, an organization which aids Moroccan health care workers and those they serve. He also volunteered through his church. Colton is still praying about God’s plan for his career and is considering a major in criminology with plans to attend law school.

When asked about his career at TBS, Colton said, “TBS is the place where I grew up. I learned there and played there. Most of my good friends came from TBS and I've been there so many years that it is my second home-first at New Hope then again at TBS.” Being surrounded by Christian friends, and by teachers who cared, helped him stay on track and kept him focused on learning. Colton did not get side-tracked by things that would have kept him from reaching his goals. Colton is grateful to have attended a school where most of his friends had the same commitment to Christ and life goals that he had.

KELSEY LYONS
Tacoma Baptist Class of 2010

"Tacoma Baptist to the core, is a family. Coming alongside my parents and church, the school has helped raise me from kindergarten and played a key role in the person I am today. I’ve learned core educational lessons as well as life lessons from my caring, personal teachers. I have loved TBS from the start (kindergarten was one my favorite years) with its “traditional” atmosphere, like-minded student body, teaching the TRUTH, and equipping me to go out and impact the world for my Lord Jesus Christ. Under TBS, we are one body serving one awesome God!"

Kelsey attended TBS for grades K-12. She served as ASB President her senior year after being involved in student leadership as an underclassman. Kelsey earned a 3.6 GPA and will be pursuing a major in Intercultural Studies after spending the fall quarter in preparation for ministry with YWAM (Youth With A Mission) in their Discipleship Training School.

ANGEL CARROLL
Fifth Grade, New Hope Elementary

"I’ve been at New Hope for six years, going on seven. I’m in the fifth grade and I learn lots. New Hope helped me to accept Jesus as my personal Savior. The teachers at New Hope help me to understand more of the Bible each day. It is not just how they taught me in class, but also how they act with each other. I am 11 years old now and growing stronger every day in the Lord because of New Hope. At New Hope we teach the Bible and the usual subjects like math, reading, history, etc. In all those subjects there are Biblical principles inside the lesson. New Hope has helped me in my walk with Christ in every way I can think of. I still stumble, but thanks to New Hope, I can get back up."
