Lady Crusaders Enter Playoffs in Softball

This Lady Crusader Softball team will enter district playoffs this Saturday, May 19.  The girls will play two games at Stanwood High School (a map is on our website under "Opponents/Directions").  The first game will be against the LaConner Braves at 11:00 am and the second game will be against the Orcas Island Vikings at 12:30 pm.  The top two teams advance to the State Tournament.  Go Lady Crusaders!

Crusaders Keep Moving Toward State Baseball Tournament

The Crusader Baseball Team came up short in their district playoff game with Concrete, losing by a score of 7-8.  The Crusaders had strong pitching from Dalton Wintersole and Matt Hallstrom; and timely hitting from Matt Hallstrom, Tommie Brazile, and Dalton Wintersole, but it wasn't enough to overcome the scrappy Concrete Lyons. The Crusaders will play LaConner on Saturday, May 12, at Stanwood HS.  Game time will be 12:00 pm, and the winner will advance to state.

The Crusaders captured the Cedar Park Eagles in a 7-0 win in the first round of district playoffs.  On Tuesday, May 8, they head to Concrete HS (7830 S Superior Ave, Concrete, 98237) to play the Lions in the second round of district playoffs. Game time is 4:00 PM

Congratulations to the mighty Lady Crusaders who punched their ticket to
the big dance in Spokane this coming week by defeating the tough, but way outplayed, Napavine Tigers 40-34.  Down at halftime 23-15, the Lady
Crusaders stormed out of the locker room and erased their deficit to tie
the game by the end of the 3rd quarter.  The 4th quarter saw the Lady
Crusaders tame the Tigers into Pussy Cats and won the game, going away.
Now its on to State!  The girls will play their first game on Thursday, Mar 1 at 12:15P in the Spokane Coliseum against Brewster High School.

Girls Basketball Goes to Regional Playoffs

The girls continue to stay in basketball playoffs and will now tangle with the Napavine Tigers at Regionals.  The game will be played this Saturday, Feb 25, at 4:00 p.m. at Mt. Vernon HS (314 N 9th St, Mt Vernon, 98273).  Exit I-5 at Kincaid St (exit 226).  Go east (up the hill) for several blocks and turn left (north) on 11th.  Go as far as you can on 11th (8 blocks).  The gym is at the point where 11th turns to the west.

Crusaders to State Wrestling Tournament

Congratulations to the Wrestling team for placing 10th at the Regional Wrestling Tournament. The team was led by the first place finishes of Matty Caroll at 106 pounds, Jimmy Denis at 120 pounds, and Kyle Delegard at 152 pounds.  Josh Hammes and David Stone also did very well.

Matty, Jimmy, and Kyle are advancing to this week's State Tournament held at the Tacoma Dome on Friday, Feb 17 and Saturday, Feb 18.  Matty's first round match will be at 10:00 a.m., Jimmy will wrestle his first match at 10:32 a.m., and Kyle will wrestle at 11:52 a.m.

Congratulations to the Crusader Football team and our Crusader Cheerleaders for earning a qualifying team GPA (min. of 3.0) for the WIAA Distinguished Team Award.  Our cross country team would've also qualified, but WIAA standards requires that there be a minimum of 5 boys and 5 girls to a team and we have a combined total of 7 boys and girls.

Crusader Baseball Claims Victory Over Life Eagles

Congratulations to Crusaders Baseball for their 25-2 season opening victory against Life Christian. Kody Lyons started on the hill and was awarded the victory, with Scott Petersen and Luke Peterson closing out the game. At the plate there were numerous contributions.   Matt Hallstrom was 2 for 3 with a double and 4 rbi's; Luke Peterson was 3 for 4 with a double, triple and 4 rbi's; Taylor Martindale was 2 for 4 with a triple and 2 rbi's; Stephen Cook was 2 for 2 with 2 doubles; and Tommie Brazile was 2 for 3 with 2 rbi's. We have a busy week next week with four games. Come out and watch us play; next up is Rainier Christian at Cirque Field in University Place, Monday @ 4pm.

Track Team Take Over

The track team is hosting a "take over" on Tuesday, March 22 at Round Table Pizza (on Hosmer). We are working to raise money for warm-ups. If pizza sounds good come by or pick up a pizza to go and support Crusader track and field. We earn 50% of the profit (beyond normal daily receipts) from sales all day long, so have a pizza for lunch, dinner or a late night snack. The team and parents will be serving in the restaurant from 5:00 p.m. throughout the evening.

Congratulations to the HS wrestling team for their efforts at the Mat Classic State Tournament.  They scored 29 points and placed 12th in State. Howie Herdle won 3 matches, lost 1 match & took 3rd place in the 130 lb class.  Zach Finley won 2 matches, lost 2 matches & took 4th place in the 152 lb class.  Jimmy Denis won 1, lost 2; Justin Washburn was unable to wrestle; David Stone lost 2; Caleb Nolta won 1, lost 2; Kyle Delegard won 1, lost 2; Andrew Talen won 1, lost 2.

Crusaders Win Regional Wrestling Tournament

For the 3rd year in a row the TBHS wrestlers win the Regional Tournament with 189 points over Concrete at 125 points.  Regional Champions are:  Howie Herdle, Caleb Nolta, Kyle Delegard, Zach Finley, Andrew Talen.  2nd Place: Justin Washburn, 3rd Place: Jimmy Denis, David Stone, 4th Place: Matty Carroll, Casey Slattery, Stephen Irving, Sam Narlock.  Regional 1st, 2nd & 3rd Place winners will compete at the Mat Classic State Tournament this Friday and Saturday at the Tacoma Dome, with 4th place going as alternates.

Crusaders vs. the Vikings In Quarter Finals

Congratulations to Crusader football for an outstanding 2010 season!  The Crusaders had one too many Vikings to contend with in their quest to the Tacoma Dome.  After beating the Willapa Valley Vikings 14-7 in the 1st Round of State Playoffs the Crusaders headed to Oak Harbor to play the Orcas Island Vikings.  With the score tied at 14-14, and 35.7 seconds left of the 4th quarter, Orcas Island scored taking away the Crusaders' hope of advancing to the Semi-Finals.
