On Tuesday, our girls had their final home game of the season and for our seniors, Sarah Zeitler and Ali Oatridge, it was the final home game of their high school career. We played the Seattle Lutheran Varsity girls and played our best game all year against them. We won 44-31! The girls were on fire, shooting 63% from the field. We had three girls get double digits in scoring. Ali led the team with 12 points, while Sarah and Ashley Brooks had 10 points each. Jen Brooks also contributed with 8 points over the course of the game. With this win, the team moves on to playoffs which will be held in La Connor on Tuesday. On Friday night our girls faced Bear Creek at home. To put it lightly, Bear Creek was a "Bear"! :) The girls struggled against Creek's shutdown "D" only scoring 4 points in the first half. This allowed Bear Creek to take a significant lead. Not giving up, however, the girls came out the second half and scored 25 points while holding Creek to 18 points. We won the second half! But we lost the game 29-44. Thanks to all the fans who were able to come out and support us.

On Tuesday our girls traveled out to the city of Bremerton to take on Crosspoint Academy. Sarah Zeitler had a blowout game with 23 points, but unfortunately, it was not enough to overcome the Crosspoint girls. The girls lost 37 to 51. It was a tough pill to swallow but our girls showed class throughout the game. Good game gals!

Yes! Finally, as requested, here is the Women’s Crusader Basketball summary of this weekend’s games. The girls this Friday took on Chief Leschi in their second match up of the season. The girls led early and were able to build on that lead to bring in a 49-13 point win. Sarah Zeitler led the team in points with 14 overall, while Ali Oatridge, Maddie Kitselman, and Ashley Brooks each contributed 6 points. In addition, some JV girls were able to get their first baskets in Varsity Basketball. Rachel Manzoline, Erica Sharrett, and Tiana Fox were all able to get their first highschool Varsity points. Congratulations Tiana, Erica, and Rachel! On Saturday the varsity played Auburn Adventist. The match was a low-scoring game, with only 8 points scored by our girls at half. In the second half though, baskets started to fall and our Crusaders went on to win it 26 to 17. Sarah again led in points with 11, while Jen Brooks chipped in with 7. Overall, both games were exciting to watch as we cheered our girls onto victory.

The next team was Seattle Lutheran where the JV team took a loss in the hard fought game and the Varsity team won 59-48 with Brandon Stoehr leading the way with 17, Dayton Pascua with 13, and Tommie Brazile with 11. On the very next night, Concrete came to town with the JV boys getting a victory and the Varsity boys scoring the win as well. All teams played their hearts out and gave all the glory to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
