The Lady Crusader Volleyball Team wrapped up a historical season over the weekend at the State Volleyball Tournament. After going undefeated in the Sea-Tac 2B League and finishing 3rd at District, the Lady Crusaders lost their first two matches at State, but played well, especially in the first match on Friday morning. The volleyball team lost to only three 2B teams all season, and those teams finished 3rd, 4th and 7th at State...it was truly a championship season. The following league post-season awards were also announced:
• Second Team All-League: Ashley Brooks and Michaela Jandebeur
• First Team All-League: Kathryn Carlson and McKenna Neufeld
• League Most Valuable Player: Natalie Snyder
• Coach of the Year: Rusty Carlson

CONGRATULATIONS to the Crusader Soccer Team for advancing to the State Quarter-Finals. The Crusaders defeated Shoreline Christian in an exciting double overtime shootout victory. The Crusaders advance as the #5 seed from Districts 1/2 to play St. George's in Spokane.
The match will be played at 12:00 noon on Saturday, Feb. 16th on the campus of Whitworth University. Ticket prices are: $8/$6/$6 for Adults/Seniors/Students (with ASB). The winner of Saturday's quarter-final game moves on to the State Finals to be held at Sumner Stadium.

The Lady Crusader Volleyball team won 2 out of 3 matches, at the District Tournament, to qualify for the State Championships. The Lady Crusaders were once again led by Captains McKenna Neufeld and Natalie Snyder and senior leaders Kathryn Carlson and Michaela Jandebeur. McKenna led the team in serving (45 of 48 with 7 aces) and assists (67) and had multiple timely kills. Natalie led the team in kills (34), digs (12), and serve receive (2.14, which is outstanding). Kathryn had a great day in the back row, getting the offense started with perfect passes and a 1.92 passer rating (that’s very high). Michaela saved her best day for District and registered 9 kills and 2 blocks in controlling the net. Once again, the Ladies enjoyed great fan support and appreciated all the efforts made to come and enjoy a great day together...see you at State!

“It’s amazing how much can be accomplished when no one cares who gets the credit - Perfection!"  The Lady Crusader Volleyball Team achieved a milestone last night and checked off a major goal by finishing an unbeaten league season to go 10-0 in the league and 12-2 overall. The 3-0 win over Seattle Lutheran was a true team win and the Crusaders lived out the above adage by playing unified and together. As usual, the defensive effort and serving led the way with the team serving at 90%, and finishing with 11 aces, 14 digs, 29 kills and 27 assists. Also, our crowd showed amazing support and energy and we want to especially thank the cheerleaders for leading the way in the fan section. The first place Crusaders are the #1 seed from the SeaTac 2B League into the Bi-District tournament.

The Lady Crusader volleyball team pushed their record to 9-0 with a win over Auburn Adventist.  As is their pattern, it was a total team effort and everyone played well in the win.  Jane Cooksley controlled the net with 6 kills to go along with Natalie Snyder's 22.  McKenna Neufeld had 33 assists and 18 of 19 serving and 3 aces.  Michaela Jandebeur also had 4 aces on 12 of 13 serving and 4 kills.  The JV also won 2-1 to finish undefeated in league play.

The Lady Crusader volleyball team locked up first place in the league by defeating Bear Creek 3-1.  It was a great team effort and everyone played well in the win.  Natalie Snyder was 22 of 22 in serving with 5 aces, led the team in kills with 16 and added 6 digs to pace the Crusader effort.  McKenna Neufeld distributed 31 assists and had 4 very timely kills from the setter position.  Kathryn Carlson had 5 kills and led the team in serve received percentage.  Lily Powell chipped in 4 aces on 17 of 17 serving and Elisa Caughlin contributed 6 digs.  The JV volleyballers remained unbeaten in both matches and games with another sweep of Bear Creek.

In their final home game and on their volleyball Senior Night, our four seniors led the way with a dominant performance over Crosspoint, defeating the Warriors 3-0.  Kathryn Carlson served 15 out of 15 with 3 aces.  Michaela Jandebeur had 7 kills and Natalie Snyder had 6 kills to lead the offense.  McKenna Neufeld had 24 assists in distributing the ball to our attackers.  It was the Lady Crusader's 7th straight league win, moving them to 7-0 and keeping them in control of their own playoff destiny. The JV also remains undefeated in league and took out Evergreen Lutheran 3-0, avenging an earlier loss by playing some inspired volleyball.  The JV was led by Jennifer Brooks serving 20 out of 23 and having 11 aces.
