Crusader Happenings

The Lady Crusader Volleyball team is having a special season.  They are 5-0 and halfway through the league season.  Their latest victory was over the Falcons from Auburn Adventist in a very efficient win.  The Ladies brought their tough serves, hitting 72 of 81 with 20 aces.  They also dominated the attack statistics, hitting 23 kills out of 61 attempts for a 38% kill ratio, which is very high.  The team is playing with great unity and energy and the atmosphere in the TBS gym is enthusiastic and loud...thank you fans!  The JV also continues to roll along undefeated in league, whitewashing the Falcons JV team 3-0.  

Lady Crusaders played their best match of the season to date, defeating the perennial league champion Bear Creek 3-1 before a loud and raucous crowd at TBS.  The Crusaders were led by the outstanding serving of Ashley brooks, hitting 29 of 33 serves and 10 aces to go along with 6 kills.  Natalie Snyder tallied 15 kills and McKenna Neufeld added 25 of 26 serving and 29 assists.  Mycayla Chavez was a perfect 6 for 6 in attack attempts and kills.  It was, however, a total team effort with some great defense and passing being played by the whole team.  Congratulations on remaining undefeated and alone in first place in league play.  The JV also beat Bear Creek 3-0 in thei best effort of the season.  The Porter sisters led the way:  Tracey had 6 aces on 17 of 19 serving and Nicole had 6 kills in only attempts.

Lady Crusaders remained undefeated in both volleyball matches and games in league play by defeating Crosspoint Academy 3-0.  It was another solid team effort with all 10 varsity players making significant contributions.  McKenna Neufeld was perfect at the service line, scoring 26 out of 26 serves in and leading the team with 4 aces and 21 assists.  Natlaie Snyder again was the team leader in kills with 13 and Mycayla Chavez had 2 big blocks.  This Thursday night at TBS brings a first place showdown with Bear Creek, the perennial league champion.  Come cheer on the Lady Crusaders as they coninue playing an exciting brand of volleyball in what is shaping up to be a special season!

Lady Crusaders continue their winning ways last night by defeating the Chief Leschi Volleyball team 3-0 with efficient, dominant, all-around play.  In her first match, Kathryn Carlson combined with Ashley Brooks to serve the Lady Warriors off the court.  Together they tallied 36 of 42 serves with 8 aces.  Michaela Jandebeur also served 4 aces and had 2 blocks, while Mycalyla Chavez pounded 4 kills.  Kudos to the TBS fan section which outnumbered and outyelled the opponents on their home court.  The JV team had a tough, close match with Evergreen Lutheran, losing 2-1 in a non-league match.

Congratulations to the Lady Crusader Volleyball team who defeated the Saints from Seattle Lutheran in their first league match.  The final score of 3-0 reflected an excellent team effort to begin the league season.  After coming off a solid third place finish in the Raymond Tournament, the Crusaders played with great effort and energy.  Ashley Brooks led the way with her serving, netting 5 aces.  McKenna Neufeld also had 5 aces and 23 assists, the majority of which went to Natalie Snyder with 14 kills.  Next up is Chief Leschi on Thursday at their place...come cheer us on!

The Crusader Volleyball Team had an exciting and hard-fought start to their 2013 campaign on Monday evening. After splitting the first 4 games of the Varsity match, it was 13-13 in the fifth before the Crusaders fell just short against a strong Orting team. The team was led by co-captains Natalie Snyder (26 kills and 5 aces) and McKenna Neufeld (29 assists and 24 serves without a miss). The JV was paced by the strong setting of Jennifer Brooks and excellent serving by Elisa Caughlin. Come out this Saturday and support the Crusaders in their first home match against Northwest Christian at 1 pm! 

In order to participate in interscholastic sports the following paperwork is required for both JH and HS sports:

This Friday the boys will play Bear Creek (8905 208th Ave NE, Redmond, 98053) in the 2nd round of district playoffs at 7:00pm.  If they win, they will play the winner of the LaConner/Seattle Lutheran game on Saturday at 8:00pm. at Chief Leschi (5625 52nd St E, Puyallup, 98371).   If they lose to Bear Creek they will play the loser of the LaConner/Seattle Lutheran game at 4:00pm on Saturday at Chief Leschi.  Come support your Crusaders!

The Crusaders will battle St. George's Dragons, this Saturday, Nov. 10, in the State Soccer Qtr. Finals.  The battle field will be at Whitworth University:  300 W Hawthorne, Rd, Spokane, WA 99251.  Game time is 12:00 p.m.
