Tacoma Baptist Schools' 34th Annual Auction - Saturday, March 18th, 2017

The TBS Auction committee is hard at work preparing for our 2017 Auction – Lights, Camera, Auction – on Saturday, March 18th. This annual event is the biggest fundraiser for our school and we couldn’t make it happen without the support and generosity of TBS families, friends, and businesses around our community.

Our financial goal for this year’s auction is $100,000. Proceeds from the auction help us to offset those additional costs not covered by tuition, support special projects and campus improvements, and enable us to provide every student with a Christ-centered education that equips them to succeed spiritually, academically, and socially.

Saturday, March 18th, 2017. Doors open and the silent auctions kick off at 4:30pm. The live auction should wrap up around 9:00pm.

Our 2017 Auction theme is: Lights, Camera, Auction. Save the date and plan to attend this fun, movie themed evening that benefits our school in BIG ways!

You can purchase tickets individually online for $40 each or contact our Auction Office for tickets. (Contact Information below.)

Every year, we look to TBS families to help us fill our silent and live auctions by donating items and helping us to procure donations from family, friends, and local businesses. These could be physical items, experiences, tickets to sporting events, services, etc. Visit our auction page for a list of ideas to spark your imagination.

Each year, TBS classes donate items and funds to put together a basket for the Auction. These themed baskets are some of the best-selling items in our silent and live auctions. Families are encouraged to donate an item (or several); donate money for our shoppers to purchase an item on your behalf; or get others, including local businesses, to donate. A percentage of what the basket sells for is returned directly to the class. Below you'll find a list of this year's class basket themes:
PS, PK – Class Project/Art
K - Coffee & Chocolate
1st – Housewarming
2nd + 3rd – Gardening
4th – Picnic
5th – Dinner Out
6th – Spa/Hot Tub
7th – Road Trip
8th – Outdoor Entertainment
9th – Puppy
10th – Family Room
11th – Emergency Preparedness
12th – Moving Out

There are a variety of ways to volunteer with the auction between now and the event. Here are three areas where we need help in the next couple of months:

·      Item Procurement – help us contact businesses and individuals in our community, asking them to donate items, services, and experiences

·      Auction Sponsor Team – reach out to local businesses and offer them the opportunity to become event sponsors

·      Item Pick-up – collect items that have been donated by local businesses and get them back to campus

These are tasks that can be done from home or during times that are convenient for you. Our auction team will set you up with everything you need to be successful and provide support as needed. If you can help in any of these ways, contact one of our Auction Coordinators (contact info below).

***Anyone looking to get involved with TBS auction is invited to join us at our next auction meeting on Wednesday, January 18th at 7:00pm in the District Offices (G Building - 66th St. Entrance).***

Each year, we choose one special project around our campus and allow friends or TBS to invest in it as our Fund-An-Item. In recent years, Fund-An-Item support has allowed us to upgrade the capability of our Student Center, give our gym a facelift with fresh paint and new energy-efficient LED lighting and add new laptops for our students to use. This year's project is yet to be determined. All Fund-an-Item donations are 100% tax deductible.

Contact Sandy Eldore ( or Melissa Andrews ( at 253.475.7226 x203. Melissa Andrews, is also on campus, in the auction office, Monday-Friday from 12:00-3:00pm, except on Thursdays.

Your generous support will help to make the 2017 TBS Auction a HUGE success!
