NEW HOPE Graham Campus
As we look ahead to the 2015-16 school year, the SSCS School Board has decided to merge TBS and New Hope, bringing all students and activities to our Tacoma campus.
This decision is the result of an examination of projected enrollment at New Hope, honest assessment of the financial impact, and our commitment to providing our students with an education that equips them to succeed academically, spiritually, and socially. This merger empowers South Sound Christian Schools to increase the quality, strength, and benefits our school can offer every family.
Who Are We?
New Hope Christian School offers engaging classes for 3-year-old preschool through 6th grade, serving families from Eatonville, Yelm, Puyallup, Orting, Spanaway, and Graham.
At New Hope, students and their families will experience traditional education with an emphasis in reading, writing, and arithmetic, and at the same time, gaining rich foundational knowledge of science, math, computers, art, and music. Students at New Hope enjoy learning with friends and teachers who love them as we grow together in faith, knowledge, and skill.
Christian teachers who are positive role models give students instruction in a safe and nurturing environment where children can grow together with loving friends, servant hearts, and Biblical truths. Students are taught critical character lessons in their daily Bible classes and weekly chapels. All subject matter is presented from a distinctly Christian and Biblical point of view.
At New Hope we have a strong sense of family. Teachers and parents partner to create a loving, Christ-centered education that helps the children to grow spiritually, academically, socially, and emotionally. We are blessed with amazing volunteers and encouraging community members as well. We would love to share our school with you.
South Sound Christian Schools are a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). Tacoma Baptist Schools are accredited with ACSI and the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools (NAAS).
In 1982, Gene and Anita Dotson stepped out in faith and opened New Hope Christian School to provide an alternative to public education. The school began with pre-kindergarten and kindergarten classes in a building that they constructed on their own property in Graham, WA.
Over time, additional grades were added to the school and the building was expanded to include not only classrooms, but also a gymnasium, cafeteria, and library; and New Hope grew into a strong elementary campus serving students in preschool through sixth grade. In 2003, the Dotsons retired and Tacoma Baptist Schools took over the ownership and operation of New Hope. With the acquisition of New Hope, the schools united to form South Sound Christian Schools - a district with two campuses.
