The CEOJim Olson, Chairman of the Board
Jim Olson is the Owner of Northwest Fasteners and has served for nearly fifteen years on the SSCS board. Jim is a former TBS student and all three of his children attended and graduated from TBS. Now, three generations later, his grandchild is attending. Jim ran the Boston Marathon and was a former TBS Cross Country Coach.






DocJames M Thrasher, Vice Chairman of the Board
James M. Thrasher, J.D., Ed.D. is the former Dean of the School of Education at the University of Montana. He has served as the Washington State School Administrator and Superintendent in three school districts. Jim also holds an Ma.Educ. from Washington State University and an Ed.D. from the University of Northern Colorado, Juris D. from Seattle University.





Ron Nelson

Ron Nelson, Board Treasurer
Ron Nelson is a consultant to Nelson Workflow Solutions. Ron recently sold InfoStream, a software development company to First American Title. He continues to consult with workflow solutions. He came to InfoStream from First Data Corporation (the largest bankcard processor in the world (FDC), where he was Vice President of Operations, General Manager of Credit Card Operations and President of one of its subsidiaries. Ron was CFO and then General Manager for a building materials company.




DoctorDr. Eileen Hemman, EdD, RNBC Member
Dr. Hemman holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Seattle University; Masters of Science, University of Colorado Medical Center; Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Montana State University; Senior Clinical Educator: Patient & Family Multicare Health Care Systems, Retired Colonel, US Army with positions as Director of Hospital Education, Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Director of Managed Care, Madigan Army Medical Center, Assistant Director of the Army's Licensed Practical Nurse Program, Former Senior Lecturer University of Washington, Tacoma, National Certification in Nursing Professional Development, member Sigma Theta Tau National Nursing Honor Society, published nurse researcher, recipient of the Nancy Whitten Outstanding Institutional Review Board Member Award for 2003.

JOSH

Josh Narayan, Member
Josh Narayan is the Owner of West Coast Industries and father of two TBS students. He currently coaches the High School Girls’ basketball team at TBS. He is also a deacon at Puyallup Community Baptist Church and board member of Camp Gilead. Josh has been coaching and working with young people for over 30 years. In March of 2008 Josh received the "Coach of the Year" award from the Tacoma News Tribune.




BradBrad Ackerman, Member
Brad currently works for the Tacoma News Tribune. He has fourteen years sales & management experience with DEX Media, a Fortune 500 Company. He has attended Gonzaga University, City University and J.M. Perry Institute and studied Business and Graphic Design. He and his wife Rhonda owned and managed their own publishing company. All three of their children are TBS students (Joshua, Jeremy & Jasmine). Currently a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher at Mt. Tahoma Baptist Church in Lakewood, Brad is starting and serving in a new Christian Ministry called www.BibleReady.com.

Dr. Ken Alford, Dmin., Northwest Graduate School of Ministry; M.A., Northwest Baptist Seminary; B.A. Cedarville University; Chaplain, Major, U.S. Army (Currently Mobilized at Ft Lewis) ; Founding and current Pastor of Family Baptist Fellowship in Graham, WA ; former Pastor of First Baptist Church of Othello, WA and Assistant Pastor at Puyallup Community Baptist Church,Puyallup, WA. Founder of Mid-Columbia Christian School, Father of four past and present TBS students and two former NHCS students. Has served in various roles as needed at TBS and NHCS. Currently Wrestling Coach at Tacoma Baptist High School . Married 27 years -- wife, Debbie is Salutatorian of TBS class of 1980.

Marc Talen, Board Secretary
Marc Talen graduated from Tacoma Baptist High School in 1980. He is the owner of Mountain Homes Construction Co., and the Father of four TBS students. He is a faithful member of First Baptist Church of University Place, WA. Marc also provides SSCS with help and special consultation in areas of building construction for the school district.

Tom Grevey, Member
Tom Grevey holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from the University of Maryland and graduated Magna Cum Laude. He is retired from the US Air Force and the US Postal Service. His child attended and graduated from TBS. He has been an Awana children’s worker, is a Deacon at Southside Baptist Church, and also teaches Sunday School.
