Athletics & Activities

Although TBS has a reputation as a rigorous academic school, we are also considered as having one of the strongest athletic programs in the area. Our football program is well-known throughout the state, with several all-time state records and Associated Press awards belonging to past and current team members.  TBS Lady Crusaders have seen success in basketball, track and many other sports.  The soccer program has two strong coaches who helped bring the team to Districts this year.  You can find out more about individual sports (schedules, coaches, records, etc.) by clicking on the sport name in the column to the right.

We are a member of the WIAA (Washington Interscholastic Activities Association). Our league affiliation is determined by level as well as sport. Middle School is a member of the Middle Chinook League, while the high school has league memberships in both the Sea-Tac and the Pacific Leagues.

Mission Statement
The mission of the athletic department is to support the overall ministry of South Sound Christian Schools by continuing to develop and strengthen the spiritual and academic lessons learned in the classroom through the use of competitive, interscholastic athletics.  The athletic department also recognizes that the model of team sports is very similar in structure and function to that of Christian body life and seeks to use this model to teach and demonstrate the dynamics of Christian body life through athletics.  Furthermore, the athletic department believes that the pursuit of excellence combined with high integrity is Biblical in concept and necessary to the overall mission of South Sound Christian Schools.

Core Beliefs
We are committed to the participation in and the coaching of athletics at TBHS/MS as a ministry, first and foremost, and that athletics is simply a tool for us to continue to develop the spiritual and academic goals of the school in the kids that we serve.  We are ministers first, and coaches and athletes second.

We are committed to the ideals of self sacrifice, humility, sportsmanship, caring for and the lifting up of others, dedication and commitment, hard work, integrity, fair play, patience, exercising of our gifts, self control, and giving honor and glory to God.  We are Christians first, and athletes and coaches second.

We are committed to providing an environment and an atmosphere of excellence.  We will work hard to provide every individual and our teams the best opportunity to be successful.  We are dedicated to quality achievement and high standards.  We will honor God by doing all to the glory of God first, and accomplishing earthly success second.
