Curriculum
Elementary:
Lower elementary- Areas of focus include Bible, reading (phonics based), writing (penmanship), arithmetic, spelling supplemented with art, music, computers, and physical education. Upper elementary- Areas of focus include Bible, English (grammar and composition), spelling, mathematics, science, history, supplemented with art, music, computers, and physical education. Students enjoy science fair projects, spelling bee competitions against other private schools through the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), geography competition (Hosted by National Geographic Society), math Olympics hosted by ACSI. Students also enjoy field trip experiences to enhance learning.
Junior High- 7th-8th
In junior high, students begin 50 minute instructional periods with teachers providing specialized instruction.
7th- Core subjects include Bible, Math (Pre algebra option), English, World History, Science (Life), with elective classes offering instruction in band, choral music, physical education, art, study skills, Spanish (introductory course),
8th- Core subjects include Bible, Math (Algebra 1 option), English, United States History, Science, with elective classes offering instruction in band, choral music, physical education, art, study skills, Spanish (introductory course). The 8th grade U.S. History course is enhanced through the class trip to Washington D.C.! This is hosted by a professional Christian tour organization that focuses upon America’s godly heritage.
