September 4, 2020 Update
Dear TBS Families,
HERE WE GO!
As we head into the Labor Day holiday weekend, we have some exciting news and important dates to share with you!
Our personalized orientation program has been a tremendous success! It has been wonderful to see so many of you back on campus for this important time of remote learning and safe reopening training.
The final day of orientation is Tuesday, September 8. We look forward to seeing those of you already planning to attend as well as those of you who still need to sign up.
TBS All School Parent & Student Handbook is available electronically for all parents to read. Please sign the acknowledgement and return it to the front office by Wednesday, September 9, when all faculty and staff will be on campus in order to facilitate our robust remote learning plan.
By design, this online platform and purposeful training period permits TBS to remain flexible as we transition back to in-person classroom instruction and in the unfortunate event of a community spike in numbers or we have a positive diagnosis of Coronavirus on campus.
Based on the recent Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department council meeting (09/02), and in accordance with Dr Chen’s recent letter (09/04) , we anticipate reopening five days per week with in-person instruction and class sizes capped to allow social distancing as follows:
Please note that we will have an influx of students on campus with the return of Crusader athletic pod group workout sessions, scheduled to begin on Monday, September 28. We want to ensure each grade division is given appropriate time to adjust to the TBS COVID protocols.
TBS continues to partner with our parents and offer our families the best private, educational value in the area. We are committed to keeping our students safe. Thanks for your patience and persistence as well as your support of the future of Tacoma Baptist Schools.
Blessing on your family this holiday weekend!
Sincerely, TBS Administrative Leadership Team

Dear TBS Families,
We are working hard over the summer to create the best plan for our campus to open in the fall while looking at the OSPI recommendations.
Along with their recommendations, we are also referencing the June 18 Phase 1-3 Religious and Faith-based Organization COVID-19 Requirements from the Governor's Office as well as all of the checklists, models, and documents being provided the from Washington Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction.
The Administrative Leadership Team, along with the TBS COVID-19 Task Team and the Board of Directors, will be continuing to build the strong educational program that you have come to expect here at Tacoma Baptist Schools.
Sincerely,
TBS Administrative Leadership Team
