Dear Friend:
I am glad you are visiting the SSCS/TBS website. If your visit was in person, I would be asking you to sit down with me for a cup of tea so we could visit about Tacoma Baptist Junior High and High School. We do have a compelling mission statement which we intentionally seek to accomplish in the lives of our students each day. That in itself makes TBS a great choice for your student.
As I walk around campus, I see students who have committed to knowing more about Jesus Christ – how to love and serve Him. It is not unusual for students to say that Bible is their favorite subject. Our Bible teachers are loved because they genuinely care about our students. More than that, students enjoy digging into the Word and applying God’s truth to their own lives.
The academics are challenging also. While some students take honors and Advanced Placement classes, others find that the “regular” classes are challenging as well. TBS seniors earn well over a million dollars in college scholarships each year, evidence of the excellent program offered to them.
The social life at TBS focuses on wholesome relationships. Students can choose to be involved in a variety of activities which give them opportunity to interact with friends of both sexes. In the junior high, parties each quarter bring a fun component to the academic year. In high school, major events like Homecoming and the Junior Senior Banquet provide for very fun social events.
I encourage you to make an appointment to visit TBS. There is nothing like being on the campus and experiencing the programs first hand. Our staff is happy to arrange an opportunity for a teen to shadow a TBS student for a half or full day.
